Outfit – New Year
This outfit actually came from a few weeks ago, specifically New Year’s Eve, which I spent at my cousin’s wedding reception. Since I wasn’t going for the whole day, I didn’t go as formally dressed as I have to weddings in the past. I felt this outfit was dressy enough, but still erring on the side of partying, rather than a formal occasion, which worked well when we were celebrating the New Year arriving as well. I hadn’t had a good opportunity to wear this dress before, and I love the teal colour, and the bronze embellishments are a bit different for me (I usually stick to silver). I thought the short, floaty skirt, teamed with the leather jacket was fun and good for dancing, as were the flat shoes, always a must for me when there’s ceilidh dancing involved! I did take the chance to wear some of my fancier jewellery though, that I don’t wear that often, in this case the black jade pieces I picked up back in Guatemala. The only downer on this outfit was the dress’s zip bursting open halfway through the night! Luckily my mum was able to pin it back together for the remainder of the night, and my grandma is going to sew a new zip in for me!
