25 Questions Tag

So today’s blog post is going to a very quick, lazy one, since I ran out of time to write anything yesterday, and was faced with this post, or nothing at all. That, and I’m currently lying in my bed, munching crisps and nursing a hangover – there will be a Halloween post coming next week! So after a quick internet search, I’ve found a question tag post, so you can find out some random bits and pieces about me. I was planning to do a few posts like this anyway, seems like a bit of fun!

25 questions tag - title text on a leafy tree background

1. Do you have any pets?
Not really. I grew up on a farm, so we have the dogs back home, but they’re more working animals than pets. And we have goldfish – there’s been many of them over the years – but since I haven’t lived at home full-time for over four years now, I don’t really think of them as mine anymore.

2. Name three things that are physically close to you.
My laptop, a bag of crisps, and an empty plate (god, that makes me sound so classy, right?)

3. What’s the weather like right now?
Ok, I’m sitting in my dimly lit shoebox of a room and I opened the curtains to check and reacted like a vampire – it’s so bright! On closer inspection though, it’s actually very cloudy today, not sunny. Probably humid too I’m guessing, since it bloody well always is!

4. Do you drive? If so, have you crashed?
Yes, I passed my test second time around, when I was seventeen – oh wow, has it really been four years? But I was at university at the time, and didn’t get my own car, so I only drove my parents’ sometimes when I was at home. Except the last time I did that was three years ago now, and I’m no longer insured to drive it… So no, I haven’t had the chance to crash!

5. What time did you wake up this morning?
The first time it was 7am, which is far too early when this is my only day off in the week, and I’m hungover. So I rolled over and then eventually got up around 10.30am.

6. When was the last time you showered?
Yesterday, before going out.

7. What was the last movie you saw?
Not entirely certain, since I spend half my free time watching movies and TV shows, but I think it was ‘Begin Again’ (Keira Knightley, Mark Ruffalo), round at a friend’s place last week.

8. What does your last text message say?
‘I almost joined her.’ That is such a weird question, of course the message means nothing without context to all of you!

9. What is your ringtone?
On my UK phone it’s Twin Atlantic – Make a Beast of Myself. I have a second phone though, with my Hong Kong sim card, and it has some random ringtone that came with the phone – I’m still not used to it though, so I don’t always realise it’s my phone that’s ringing!

10. Have you ever visited a different country?
Have you seen the Travel tag on this blog? And I’m currently living abroad in Hong Kong, so there’s that. I also lived in France for a year, and have travelled across Europe and Central America – Asia has plenty more for me to see while I’m here now!

11. Do you like sushi?
I’ve never actually tried it, since I don’t like fish, and therefore don’t imagine I will like sushi.

12. Where do you buy your groceries?
That was a stress and a half when I first got to Hong Kong, since I had to learn where to buy everything, not just groceries! Now I usually go to one called Wellcome, just round the corner from us, but occasionally I’ll go somewhere else depending on what I need.

13. Have you ever taken any medication to help you fall asleep faster?
Nope, I only take medicines when I absolutely have to, so I wouldn’t for an issue like this. Which might sound daft considering some of the insomniac nights I’ve had in the past.

14. How many siblings do you have?
Two, a younger brother and sister.

15. Do you have a desktop computer or a laptop?
A laptop – does anyone my age have a desktop computer any more?

16. How old will you be turning on your next birthday?
22, and yes, I will be playing Taylor Swift all day, because you kind of have to, right?

17. Do you wear contacts or glasses?
Both – I got glasses when I was about eight, I think, and I hated them. My mum let me get contacts when I was about thirteen, as you have to wait until that sort of age anyway, and I was getting braces and definitely didn’t want those with glasses! I’ve worn contacts most of the time since, but I always have to use my glasses from time to time, which I don’t hate as much anymore.

18. Do you colour your hair?
Nope, never have! I’m quite protective about my hair, and hate the idea of messing it up, so I’ve always been too scared to dye it. I like my natural colour anyway though, so I’ve no strong urges to change it.

19. What are you planning to do today?
Once I’ve finished writing this, providing I don’t feel like I want to die anymore, I’m hopefully going to go meet my friend at the beach. Just the thought of the journey there that I can’t be arsed with…

20. When was the last time you cried?
A couple of weeks ago, on my Grandad’s birthday, the first one since he passed away a few months back.

21. What is your perfect pizza topping?
What isn’t? Depends on my mood – sometimes just cheese is good, sometimes I like ham and pineapple, I used to get this bolognese mince one in France; but usually if there’s an option that includes chicken, peppers, and onion, that’ll be my order!

22. Which do you prefer, hamburgers or cheeseburgers?
Cheeseburger of course! All the goodness of a hamburger, with added cheese? Yes please! Oh crap, these food questions are not good when I’ve got hangover munchies and no good food in the flat…

23. Have you ever had an all-nighter?
For what purpose? I never have for schoolwork or to meet a deadline, but I have stayed up all night for a Harry Potter film marathon before, and I’ve stayed out partying until sunrise, but then got to bed for the rest of the morning.

24. What colour are your eyes?
Green. There’s bits of blue in there too I think, but they’re mostly green. I didn’t inherit the red hair that several of my cousins have, that so typically goes with green eyes, and I only have a few tiny freckles around my nose!

25. Tea or coffee? And how do you take it?
Mostly I’m a coffee drinker – I usually have 2-3 a day, but the minimum is one in the morning! Then sometimes I just really fancy a cup of tea (like now actually!), but that’s less common. And I take my coffee black, but my tea with milk, no sugar in either. It’s actually the opposite way round to my mum, who has white coffee and black tea. My friend thinks I’m weird for drinking them differently too.
